Cherry Blossom Night

The last time I went to see cherry blossoms in the states was about 15+ years ago. Every time I would make plans the next day to go see them in the capital, the rain would always make it to them first. I am so glad I got to see them this year!

Cherry Blossom Night

Throughout Japan, cherry blossoms are coming out. If you’ve missed seeing them in one region, you maybe got a chance to catch them in another region.

The blossoms start from the south and make its way up north Japan. One of Japan’s famous viewing spot is here.

If you haven’t gone to Matsumoto Central yet, well…your time is running out!. The cherry blossoms have reached its peak, and I would assume they will all be gone by the end of this week.

I was at central over the weekend. The cherry blossom trees that surround Matsumoto castle were all illuminated along the moat surrounding the castle.

The castle’s courtyard was open to the public, which rarely happens.

The courtyard was pretty big (as expected, duh), with traditional instrumental being played from inside the castle.

The streets were packed with tourists, walking the streets, and others having picnics. I can imagine if you were to catch these beauties during daylight hours, they would be just as gorgeous!

The highlight of the day was seeing these two gorgeous swans couple swimming around in the moat outside the castle.

Now, I don’t mean to sound like a romantic but,….that was pretty freaking romantic! lol.
